Replace sugar with Stevia could solve mystery illness

My private practice is located in the Northeast of America – which is a hotbed area of disease-bearing ticks, so I see and treat a lot of patients with Lyme disease.

I’m also a true believer that many of us have chronic infections in our bodies –like Lyme – and that these infections can be the root cause of many different kinds of diseases and symptoms.

But I DON’T believe that the answer to those infections is the use of long-term antibiotics.

Prolonged use of antibiotics can jeopardize the delicate balance of your microbiome. And, as you know, your gut – particularly the right balance of the “good bugs” in it – is key to achieving and maintaining optimal health.

So, any evidence to help educate and help my patients use natural methods to kill stealth infections is music to
my ears.

And now, there’s a new study that’s making the rounds through the holistic community (it’s “gone viral,” as they say) because it shows that stevia, a safe and sweet herb, actually kills the stealth and health-robbing bacteria that causes Lyme disease.

Even more, it kills Lyme better than antibiotics!

And this news couldn’t come at a better time – when scientists are predicting a banner year for tick populations and an explosion of Lyme disease infections.

This herb outsmarts the sneakiest bacteria

Stevia is an herbal, sugar-like extract that’s usually grown in Brazil and Paraguay.

You may have only just started hearing about it recently, but it’s actually been around for 1500 years!

It’s become popular because it’s about 200 times sweeter than sugar, yet it has a negligible effect on your blood sugar1 – something that even other sugar substitutes and “fake” sweeteners can’t claim.

It’s even been used to TREAT diabetes!

Plus, stevia has been shown to have many other amazing effects on the human body, including lowering blood pressure.2

According to the authors of this new study, stevia helps get to Lyme disease (and other deep-seated and elusive infections in the body) by breaking up their protective coatings that they hide behind.3

This coating is called “biofilm,” and it’s a kind of “slime” that MANY different forms of bacteria use to evade your immune system… survive for long periods of time… and even morph themselves to escape antibiotics.

Biofilm is a sticky, cocoon-like shell that is the reason behind the stubbornness and dangers of many diseases and conditions such as:

• Bacterial pneumonia (one of the leading causes of death in this country)
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Burn patients
• Tooth decay/cavities
• Chronic sinusitis
• Chronic ear inner ear infections

The cause of infections on/in joint replacements, heart valves, and catheters.

In fact, in a 2003 article, a researcher claimed that biofilm factored in to 80 per cent of all bacterial infections.4

This research is revolutionary to me because it shines a light on an elephant-in-the-room issue: Bacteria are smarter than we think.

Bacteria, like Lyme disease, are not dumb organisms that can be easily and totally wiped out of the body when you take antibiotics. And the biofilm they hide behind illustrates why MANY different infections can persist and hide in your body and become “chronic” infections.

Because these bugs are hiding out, they’re very difficult to test for.

And in the conventional world, if you can’t see them, they don’t exist.

Such is the case with Lyme – whose conventional medical lab testing disease is so flawed that the states of Maryland and Virginia have enacted LAWS that force the doctor and patient to acknowledge that a negative test result doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have Lyme.

A win- win situation

You know that sugar is bad for you. In fact, it’s SO bad for the human body and immune system that JUST stopping sugar usually helps my chronic Lyme disease patients.

Even if you don’t have a chronic infection… but just want to be healthier… an amazingly beneficial lifestyle change would be to just stop consuming sugar.

But stopping sugar is easier said than done.

First of all, it’s in just about everything. Any substance you eat that has high fructose corn syrup is basically sugar.

On top of that, the fact of the matter is: Ice cream, chocolate and any other version of sugar tastes good. And, if you’re used to eating them, they’re a tough habit to kick.

Sugar is a very addicting substance – in fact, it’s been shown to activate the same opioid receptors in the brain as HEROIN.

And breaking that addiction is not easy.

So, it’s obvious that something else needs to be able to satisfy those sugar cravings – and that’s what stevia provides.

If you throw in the fact that it can kill Lyme disease and break up the sticky biofilm that’s causing many different bacteria to evade your immune system, making it part of your daily routine is a “no brainer.”

In fact, everyone should at least try to use it and see how to incorporate it in to their lives.

You might have heard of the new sugar substitute Truvia that incorporates stevia as one of its main ingredients, but it’s best to buy the liquid version of the pure herb at a health
food store.
