Is everything the mainstream has been telling us about cancer completely wrong?
For years we’ve been told that getting cancer was a matter of bad luck of bad genes – just an unfortunate roll of the dice. And the mainstream’s answer has been to make billions by trying to detect cancer early, instead of stopping it in the first place.
But an amazing new study is setting the entire cancer industry on its ear – and it just may hold the key to saving your life.
In the December edition of the journal Nature, researchers from Stony Brook University confirmed that almost all cancers are caused by outside factors that you can CHANGE or even FIX.
That means that you could dramatically lower your chances of ever having to be doomed to a cancer diagnosis or sickening and risky treatments like radiation and chemotherapy. And by understanding – and eliminating – some common causes of cancer, you could actually stop the disease from ever taking hold.
The avoidable toxins that are giving you cancer
The Stony Brook researchers’ conclusion that the majority of cancers are caused by “external factors, such as environmental toxins, behaviours, and infections” shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise.
The mainstream has sung its old song forever about how only a handful of cancers – like lung cancer caused by cigarette smoking – are triggered by external toxins. But if you do the research, the shocking truth is that almost every major chemical or heavy metal that we are exposed to is definitively linked to some type of cancer. Multiple medical studies have been published that link each of the hundreds of toxins that you can be exposed to with a respective cancer or cancers.1, 2, 3
In fact, in May of 2010, the President’s Cancer Panel, in the US, warned President Obama in a letter along with a comprehensive report that “the true burden of environmentally-induced cancers has been grossly underestimated.”4
With so much evidence, how can such a discord still exist?
Because the carcinogenic toxic exposure is almost always at a low level over a prolonged period of time – and not a high contamination state of emergency.
According to these reports, there is growing scientific evidence that exposure to LOWER levels of chemicals in the general environment is contributing to society’s growing cancer burden.
Of course, this should come as no shock to you – the story of low level toxic burdens has even hit the Hollywood studios. Ever seen the movie Erin Brockovich about cancer caused by hexavalent chromium in water? A documentary film from 2013, Unacceptable Levels, also explores this issue – and watching it can be a good wake-up call, if you’re not already worried about what the environment is doing to your body.
Cancer can be brought on by a nasty bug
The Nature study also admitted that infections can be a root cause of cancer. We already know that Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) can cause cervical cancer AND some head and neck cancers. The Hepatitis C virus can cause liver cancer, and the Epstein-Barr virus can cause some forms of lymphoma, a type of blood cancer that develops in the body’s lymphatic system. And the Helicobacter pylori bacteria (H. pylori) has been shown to cause stomach cancer.
Because these are known and accepted root causes of cancer, your conventional doctor is probably willing to screen and treat you for these infections. But the somber truth is: there are many OTHER stealth bacterial and viral infections that can bring on that dreaded ‘C word’ diagnosis… that doctors AREN’T testing for…or treating.
A wonderful synopsis of this topic, published in the Journal of Translational Medicine in 2006, shines light on the various studies that show the multitude of cancers with infectious causes, including:5
- Some gallbladder cancers and Salmonella
- Lung cancer and Chlamydial pneumonias
- Colon cancer and at least three different bacterial infections
In fact, a study published in a urology journal showed a strong connection between the inflammation caused by a certain virus in some patients and prostate cancer.6
There are even reports about certain PARASITES causing bladder and bile duct cancer.7
You’ve got to be strong enough to fight what ails you
So it sounds pretty obvious, right? Identify the cancer-causing bacteria and viruses (or parasites), treat the infection when it occurs, and avoid cancer. But conventional doctors continue to miss the boat and ignore infections as a potential source of cancer because they actually need to look beyond the infectious agents themselves when identifying the true root cause.
It’s most likely the strength of your immune system – and not the infection itself – which is the root cause of the cancer.
That means that while killing the infection is important, it might quickly return and continue to wreak havoc… if your immune system is weak. Holistic cancer regimens therefore focus on bolstering the patient’s immune system – which is the opposite of mainstream protocol, chemotherapy, which is guaranteed to LOWER your immune system.
That’s why garlic can be an amazing food and supplement. Its germicidal properties can help boost your immune system8 – which is probably why it’s been touted for so many generations to be a potent treatment for cancer and other diseases.
And now there’s scientific data to back up what might be dismissed as just a wives’ tale – that a high intake of dietary garlic lowers the rate of stomach and colon cancers. Even the National Cancer Institute has gotten on the garlic bandwagon and recommended the pungent vegetable for its anti-cancer properties.9 (Not to mention it tastes great when mixed into your stir-fry or rubbed on your favourite meat.)
Cancer isn’t something that just happens to you
Despite the overwhelming evidence that cancer is NOT just a matter of ‘C’est la vie,’ many doctors aren’t screening for environmental factors like toxins OR heavy metals in your body. They also aren’t screening for most of these infectious agents or even treating you if you do come up with a hint of an infection.
If you want to make sure the odds are stacked in your favour to remain cancer-free, change your ‘luck’ by switching to a holistic doctor. He’ll work with you to reduce your toxic load in your home or work environment, find and reduce the toxins that have worked their way into your body, strengthen your immune system, and test and kill potential infections that you could be harbouring – and help keep them from coming back.
