It fails three out of every four times it’s given.
Year after year it exposes millions of elderly patients, who thought they were protected, to serious respiratory infections and even death.
But you have to hand it to Big Pharma. They’ve now found a way to make the flu vaccine even more worthless.
New research shows that taking cholesterol-lowering statins can make the flu vaccine useless.
According to the findings of the latest study, published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases, researchers looked at the flu shot’s effectiveness from 2002 to 2011, and then broke down the data based on whether people were taking statins.
For those patients who were on the cholesterol drugs, the effectiveness of the flu vaccine was a pathetic 12.6 per cent. It failed nearly 90 per cent of the time!
But get this — even for people who were not on statins, the vaccine’s effectiveness was only 26 per cent.
That’s right. Even at best, the flu shot only works a quarter of the time.
It’s one of the mainstream’s little secrets that they don’t tell you about while they’re bullying you into rolling up your sleeve. The truth is, flu vaccines are developed BEFORE the flu season each year, so manufacturers are just guessing which flu viruses will be out there.
The vaccines are a sorry defence against the flu to begin with; the statins just make them worse.
Now, that doesn’t mean that you should put any more faith in statins either.
Statins might lower your cholesterol but they don’t work to fight heart disease — the very reason why doctors prescribe these drugs in the first place.
Even drug manufacturers admit that it takes two years before you get the full effect of the statins. Studies show that it would take 140 statin users five years to prevent just one single heart attack.
That doesn’t seem worth the risk of the drugs’ deadly downsides, which include increasing your risk of diabetes, kidney failure and permanent muscle damage.
So, if you’re one of the millions of people taking statin drugs, you may be wondering — should I skip these cholesterol drugs or the flu shot?
Well, let me make that easy for you. Skip both.
They’re both duds, even without each other. And there are safe and natural alternatives that can help you slash your cholesterol levels while boosting your immune system against the flu.
If you’re really worried about your cholesterol, there are safe and natural alternatives. Flax seed oil, red yeast rice and the Paleo diet can help do the trick for you.
As for as fighting the flu, skip the shots and build a strong immune system naturally and safely. I recommend loading up on vitamins D and C, and multivitamins with zinc and selenium.Wishing you the best of health,
