It’s December. The temperature is dropping, the leaves have fallen and everybody is getting ready for the festive season… and of course the flu season.
You know, when Big Pharma cranks up its well-oiled propaganda machine to scare you and everyone in your family into getting a flu shot.
The ads and news stories are already out. You’ve probably seen them: “Flu season is expected to be worse than last year.”
Of course, they tell us this every year.
These flu vaccines are based on government advisory panels doing guesswork as to which flu strains will circulate this year.
And they’re wrong more often than they’re right. In fact, last year’s flu vaccine was only 20 per cent effective.
The flu can be serious. But only depending on the flu vaccine to keep you safe can be a recipe for disaster.
The flu vaccines not only offers a false sense of security, it also comes with some risks of its own — including some flu-like symptoms that feel a heck of a lot like the ones you were trying to avoid in the first place!
That’s why I recommend the following immune-boosters to help keep you flu-free this season:
- Load up on vitamin D. Try to take in about 4,000 IUs a day.
- Take at least 3 grams of vitamin C daily. It’s safe to take vitamin C in pretty high doses. If you start to experience loose stools, you’ve reached your upper limit.
- Take a multivitamin containing selenium and Vitamin E. They’re both proven to fortify your immune system.
- Take care of yourself. Make sure you wash your hands, exercise, eat healthy, get enough sleep and reduce stress.
