If your child or grandchild has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), you have one of the toughest decisions of your life to make.
On one hand, it’s hard to sit by and watch a child you love suffer from irritability and hyperactivity – and maybe even struggle in school.
On the other hand, the drugs being handed out for ADHD are some of the most dangerous around. Some children have even died after taking them.
If you’ve ever wished there was a simpler – and much less dangerous – way to treat ADHD, British researchers have made an exciting discovery you need to hear about.
Because they found that they could cut the worst ADHD symptoms in half using nothing more than a multivitamin.
Researchers from the University of Oxford tested blood samples of nearly 200 school children between the ages of 13 and 16 who had previously had issues with outbursts, antisocial behavior, and more.
And guess what? ALL of them turned out to be low in key vitamins, minerals, and omega-3s.
During the 12-week study, some of those teens took a mixture that included omega-3s, vitamins and minerals. And as these important nutrients built up in their bloodstreams, their behavioral episodes dropped by an impressive 50 per cent.
That’s 50 per cent improvement without touching a prescription drug.
Now, because the study gave those grandchildren a mixture of nutrients, the researchers aren’t exactly sure which were the most helpful. But a previous study has shown omega-3s to be as effective as drugs when it comes to helping distracted grandchildren focus, and we know omega-3s are critical for brain support.
At any rate, this is just another reminder that lots of conditions out there today are caused by nutritional deficiencies. And the prescription drugs that the mainstream hands out like candy may mask the problem, but they never address the root cause of illness.
If there’s a child you love suffering from ADHD, give a quality vitamin and some omega-3 supplements a try.
You just may end up getting rid of some of the worst symptoms – and that Ritalin or Adderall prescription – at the same time.Wishing you the best of health,
